How long does it last? Tan lasts 7-13 days depending on skin + care. Face sheds quickest (3-4). Day 1-5 is peak. Period or pregnacy hormones may alter tan duration.

When to book? 2 days before event/shoot. For vacation, morning day before or 2 days prior. Same day or day prior tans work great too in last minute cases!

How quick can I rinse it? Most solutions are 3-6 hour rinses. If you need to stay in it over 7 hours, I can customize one based on your schedule.

When can I get a wax, nails, lashes etc done? Lashes, before or day after is fine. Waxing I recommend 2 or 3 days+ more before because it can absorb extra tan in the areas, if its Brazilian wax it’s ok day before. Nails (acrylic, gel etc) are fine day before, day of tan or after.. but FULL pedi (foot in water bowl/scrubs) 2+ days prior to appointment. You can do a pedi color change day or or after tan though.

How long is my session? The spray is quick, 10-15 minutes. But if it’s your first time, I do in depth consult and chat about the tan so expect to be here 30 minutes.

Can I spray tan naked? Yes, I am a judge free zone, most women tan naked! If you prefer to have a line wear a bikini or thong, I also supply pasties if needed. If you’re on your period, it’s perfectly normal- wear a tampon, yes you can still tan naked.

How quick can I go to gym? I recommend waiting 12-24 hours, you must be rinsed as well.

How do I choose a color? Don’t worry, its custom so I mix when I see you + we chat on needs. It’s important to be realistic and understand how DHA, bronzers work which I will tell you in person more. Although a first time spray will be gorgeous, it’s common the second onward we are able to tweak it and be more risky on depthness/tones.

Can I tan if I’m pregnant? DHA is FDA approved and there is no evidence that DHA is harmful. But, I recommend that you consult with your doctor or ask for a thumbs up.

If I have a sunburn can I tan? If you’re peeling or have a late peel from a sunburn that is old, expect those areas to be patchy when spray tanned.

Can I tan in the sun with a spray? Yes, you can get tan naturally in the sun even with a spray but still use SPF not oils. Spray tans don’t offer UV protection on skin.

Do I need a trial for my bridal tan? I don’t require it but highly suggest it. A tan is a head to toe job, on a big day usually one wants to be sure of the color their skin will be. With a trial, we can tweak the tan on official day or keep the mix we did on trial tan. I have brial packages but also you can book them as two seperate medusa tans.

Can this stain my clothes or sheets? The first few days (day 1-3) some cosmetic bronzer can very minimally rub off but almost always rinses off when washed. If seen, wash sooner rather than later.

I have sensitive skin, psoriasis, eczema etc. You’re welcome to come in for a patch test. If you have eczema and such, it helps blur skin but anywhere there is skin cells regenerating- it can be blotchy.

How to do prepare for my tan? Exfoliate : Shave day or 2 before if need be. As last shower step, exfoliate night before appointment ( or 2 nights worth) all over w/ exfoliation mitt ( I suggest hamman on amazon). Don’t come to appointment with lotions, perfumes, makeup/deodorant (if you can’t avoid those two, we can clean it here with wipes). Avoid the soap bars (dove) days before tan and after. Don’t shower right before appointment ! 6 hours or more prior, if you must right before, you must finish it with cool water.

What do I wear to appointment? Leave in loose-fitting, no tight bands no leggings, best is long sleeve tops + bottoms protect tan (pjs), or baggy tshirts, bra less, open toed shoes or slippers. No tennis shoes, no jeans. In summer, I know with heat its hard but something thin works, if you want to protect car/couch come in thin longgg pj bottoms or so.

Will any body wash or lotion work? NO, some can cause patches with spray tans. You can find these suggested products on my amazon link here, walgreens, target or ulta.

lotions- Cerave, Cetaphil, ST tropez tan enhancing moisturizer, aveeno skin relief, shea molisture hydrating body. (I also have some in studio)

body wash- bondi sands ph balancing, native, shea moisture manuka honey, aveeno skin relief body wash

SPF- never aerosol btw; Sunbum, alba botanica, coola

Tips to extend my tan? Take quick,cool/warm shower not long hot ones. Moisturize body morning and night! Use proper products. Tap dry with towel not rub.

• You can use tan extender lotions as well (day 5,8,11) but do research on which you prefer: ST tropez pure gradual lotion, st tropez everyday milk, dolce glow lotions.

Can I get in pools or sea? Yes but tan fades quicker depending on time in chlorine. TIP- Moisturize + use sunbum spf all over before pool or beach. Don't let chlorine sit on your skin so run body under the outdoor showers that pools provide after pool. Then re apply sunbum spf all over for extra tan protection. If you plan on being in pool for lots of hours multiple days, I suggest using lotions with tans on those nights (on clean skin before bed on vacay). They replenish lost spray tan, great help for those 4-7 day vacations where we want to be picture perfect every day yet be in water.

Jacuzzis, massages, saunas. All three remove tans fast. Jacuzzi and sauna temperatures exfoliate and loosen skin. Massages have deep rubbing of skin with oils and do too. Opt for these last days of tan when you’re ok with it coming off.

Prep is important for a smooth non orange tan!

Exfoliate: Shave day or 2 before(it’s not a must). As last shower step, exfoliate well night before appointment ( or 2 nights worth) all over w/ exfoliation mitt. If you have left over tan either use bondi sand tan eraser gel or take a hot tub bath w/ salts,lather in baby oil, then exfoliate.

The shower before tan: Don't shower right before appointment (you can with warm cool water if need). Simply shower night before tan and exfoliate LAST after washing body & hair. Avoid bars,dove/olay (pre and post tan).

Beauty appointments: If you wax do so 2 or more days prior, no full water dip pedis a day before or post tans,pedi color changes ok, facials all 24+ hrs or more before tan. Lashes and nail sets are ok day of, prior or post.

WHEN TO BOOK: 2 days before event/shoot, for vacation can be day before or 2 days prior. For big events, get a trial tan to be sure. Sunburns (even old ones) may be be blotchy on area. Protect skin with spf. Period hormones may alter tan duration. Spray tans are pregnancy safe but you can get doctor approval for extra peace of mind.

Clothing: Ideally leave appointment in loose clothing, nothing tight. To protect inner arm joints use long sleeve + long bottoms. Think pajamas! In summer I know it’s hot so it’s tricky; do linen bottoms, summer dresses, thin pjs. In winter; sweatshirts, pjs, lounge wear etc. Highly suggest sandals or slip on shoes no socks/tennis shoes.

What to spray in: Undies, thong, top less, bikini, nipple covers or full on nude for 0 tan lines. If on period, no worries at all, we’re all women it’s normal. This is a JUDGE free zone :) Remove any bulky jewelry. Everyday bracelet, thin necklaces or permanent jewelry is ok.

On way out: If RAINING bring an umbrella. Long sleeve/bottoms help avoid getting on seats or bring a towel to cover if you have shorts. You'll be given a rinse time of between 3-12 hours post tan.

First rinse: 1st rinse at assigned time: quick brief warm shower, NO soap (just on pits/intimates). Use hands to swipe off bronzer on skin. PAT dry with towel vs rub everyday. Avoid pools, gym, heavy sweating for 12-24 hrs post spray ( I wait 24 hrs).

Correct products: Certain body wash + lotions REMOVE tans so use these below. Get on amazon here or purchase our in studio bottles that are created for tan duration.

Approved bodywash: Our in studio Kukui nut oil gel, Cetaphil, Cerave, Aveeno, Sheamoisture, RawSugar, Meyer, Bondisands

Moisturize 2x a day , lotions : Our in studio mango seed oil lotion, Cerave, Raw sugar, Native, Sheamoisture, Meyers, Bondisands

SPF: Must be lotion, not aerosol. Sunbum, Coola, Cerave, Pure coopertone, Neutrogena ultra.

Duration: Our underboob, hands, feet and face have delicate areas, they’ll fade quicker. Fading varies, usually starts day 7 onward but for some lasts up to 12 days Day 1-5 is peak. If you want face to stay tan, buy face drops on amazon, use tinted moisturizer or bronzers. Body tan extender lotions help too. When ready to remove, take off with exfoliation mitt all over and book again :)

Chlorine chemical takes off tan quicker so gauge how long you want to be in. Moisturize + use sunbum spf all over before pool or beach. Don't let chlorine sit on your skin, run body under outdoor showers. Re apply spf all over for extra layer of protection. Tanning: YES you can TAN under sun with a spray tan. Still use spf NOT oils. Careful, if you're getting a sun burn you won't notice.

Extras: I don't recommend saunas or hot tubs until last days of spray tan, saunas aren’t as damaging as hot tubs. Massages I recommend not doing until last days of tans because the oils and hard skin rubs will loosen tan.
